Hemp and Fig Paste


15 large ripe figs

1kg jam setting sugar

½ cup hulled hemp seed

2 tblspn water


Dice figs roughly

Place in large saucepan with water, bring to the boil

Simmer figs until cooked and pulp like texture

Blitz figs with a hand blender

Add sugar, stir well until dissolved

Simmer for 3 hours until thick

Stir in hemp seed

Spoon into small containers, cover with baking paper for 24 hours

Remove baking paper, wrap in plastic, or keep in a sealed container

Enjoy with any soft or hard cheese.
